WHAT IS THE ULTIMATE RIFT WARRIOR BUILD?

Thanks for visiting my Rift Warrior guide showing you what I believe is the best soul build for leveling and it’s also great for PVP! I’ll be adding to it as well, so please come back often.

I also recommend the Xerxes Rift guide which taught me to level my Warrior in Rift to level 50 and has great class soul builds, dungeon and PVP guides.

Introduction

One of the things I found quite annoying in other online games such as WOW was every melee class (or indeed the other classes as well) only had three choices (called talent trees in WOW). Yes, you could customize your Warrior quite a bit in WOW but you were still fixed on those three talent trees.

With Rift Planes of Telara, we do not have this limitation. Your class is not set in stone but you can literally alter your Warrior from being a pure DPS class to becoming a specialist anti magic Warrior, plus almost countless other options.

If you are new to Trion Rift and not quite sure which class to play then I would highly recommend the Warrior. They are a great fun choice and fantastic in PVP and PVE.

You will also find it very easy to get into groups.

This is probably fairly obvious for some gamers but in case you are new to all this, a Planes of Telara Warrior has two main roles, with lots of sub variations.

Tanks

If you like the notion of your Warrior living for ages even though plenty of enemies are hitting you then the Tank type choice is the one for you.

DPS

The other role is DPS, which basically means you will be doing loads of damage but can take much less damage yourself. This role can be okay in PVE and it definitely terrific in PVP.

Leveling and Soul Options

Now let’s move onto some recommended souls for Warriors for Rift leveling.

The Riftblade is often a fantastic soul to pick for leveling in Rift. It has quite a few fantastic abilities to use which do not rely on your items. This is a very important point to remember.

Put your main points in to the Riftblade tree with your second tree as the Champion tree for some extra high damage and movement skills. I personally didn’t spend any points into the Champion soul tree but simply used it for the excellent Bull Rush ability which gets to you your enemies very quickly.

The third soul I would recommend you use the Beastmaster but don’t put any points into it. The pet is the reason why want this. Even without putting any points into Beastmaster, the pet will still work pretty well and has saved my Warrior’s life many times in PVE.

By the way, you may have read that the Riftblade tree has been nerfed and that is correct but it’s still a great tree, especially for leveling in Rift.

Your major skills in the beginning should be Flamespear and Fiery Burst.

Another skill which is often overlooked is Thunderstrike. It doesn’t do as much damage as others but doesn’t cost much power to use, so it’s great for those long fights.

One more cool thing about the Riftblade soul tree is that you can use a shield and still do fairly good damage, due to the fact the damage of your Riftblade abilities are extra magical fire damage, so a one handed weapon still works well.

I would recommend you use the following Warrior build at level 21

You can also check out this Riftblade class build at – Riftblade (21) / Champion (7) / Beastmaster (0)

Tanking

When you like the pure tank builds (for PVE) then a superb option is the Paladin.

To be honest with you, I don’t like tanking with my Warrior. I mostly do player versus player combat. But you’ll most likely need a tank build as well, in case you need to do expert instances.

Just buy another Role and use it for your tanking build.

Sorry the Tanking section is very poor in this Rift guide but I do not tank that much, as I’m really into PVP. I’ll ask a friend who likes to play a tank to write some useful information.

Summary

Whatever build you try with the Warrior, you are going to undoubtedly have so many great options available to you and I’ve found the Warrior to be one of the most fun classes in Rift and indeed in all the games I’ve played.

I’ll write another Warrior guide later which shows the higher levels as well but I hope this guide was useful to you.

If you want a complete Rift guide with full leveling guides, class soul build guides, instance guides and PVP guides, I highly recommend the popular Xerxes Rift Mastery Guide.
